Children's Church
Welcome to our children’s church!

Each Sunday morning children and youth join in worship time with the whole congregation in the sanctuary at 10:30. About 15 minutes into the service, those ages 4-12 are invited to go with their leaders to Children's Church in the Centre for Peace. Following the service, parents are asked to pick up their children in the Youth Room at the Centre for Peace.
In Children’s Church we draw on resources from Godly Play, Bible Quest and Seasons of the Spirit curricula to create an inviting, music-filled program of bible stories, discussion, singing, crafts, drama and games. Children are encouraged to wonder, create, and share their own stories while learning how Jesus calls us to be peacemakers.
On the third Sunday of the month, the children and youth return to the worship service to take communion with their families.
New – Preschool Program
Over the next month, we hope to be able to offer a new preschool program upstairs in the Centre for Peace. This program will include stories, songs, crafts, and early faith-formation for 2-3 year olds.
Youth and Young Adults
Opportunities abound for youth and young adults wanting to get more involved at Canadian Memorial Church! Some of these include:
- help with Children’s Church on Sunday mornings
- go on a retreat with other United Church youth or young adults in B.C.
- prepare lunches for Street Meals once a month at the Centre for Peace
- help plan and host a youth night at Canadian Memorial Church
- serve dinner at First United once a month
Please speak with Dana Luccock or check out the YouthSpace bulletin board in the Centre for Peace for more information. Dana sends out emails regularly about upcoming events (retreats, volunteer opportunities, evening worship, etc.) for youth and young adults. If you would like to be added to this list, please contact her at dana@canadianmemorial.org.
