At CMUC, “we are committed to peace: we promote peace, in ourselves, our relationships, and our world”.  Indeed, as a war memorial church, CMUC was founded in 1928 to promote peace in the world.

Other core values of the Canadian Memorial United Church include justice, diversity, equality, and reverence for the earth and all creation as sacred gifts of God.

As both CMUC’s core values and mission to act for peace in the spirit of the Christ fit well with the WPF’s goals of peace, justice, and sustainability, the Church and The Centre for Peace were set aside for peace events with a spiritual focus during the WPF week.

If you would like more information about the peace events, please contact Mary Lou Whittaker.
