THE FOURFOLD PATHWAY – An Introduction
Our liturgy (“work of the people”) follows the ancient Christian
pattern of moving us through the four pathways.
In Positiva we express our sense of joy, awe,
and wonder as we meet our need to celebrate life’s deep mysteries.
In Negativa, we face honestly that the world is
not as it should be. We move into a time of lament and mourning for
those realities which fall short of life as God intended.
In Creativa we speak, dance, and sing our way
out of lament into our hope, founded in our experience of God’s
non-coercive persistent movement of grace.
In Transformativa, we embody our recovered hope
asking how we can make a difference. We claim the power and the intent
to join with the Holy One in working toward a fuller manifestation of
peace for ourselves and our world.
