Mission and Service Fund
What is the Mission and Service Fund?
The United Church of Canada is a Canadian church that supports service and
ministry across Canada and around the globe. The way to contribute to the
National effort of the Church is
through the Mission and Service Fund. M&S currently helps
fund 123 community outreach and social programs across Canada, and
internationally on more than 500 projects in 39 countries. M&S is also a
significant source of funds for the National operations of the Church. For more
information from The United Church National website, click

A New Balance for Mission
The Board is supporting our Minister's process of consulting
with the congregation regarding the balance between our funding of the M&S Fund
and direct mission projects. The January 2007
Mission Newsletter sets out the issues and our process. The Board
welcomes verbal and written feedback from the congregation.
What is the contribution by Canadian Memorial Church?
The congregation of Canadian Memorial has in the past few
years
raised $60,000/ year for the Mission and Service Fund.
How are we doing?
In 2006 we almost raised the full target ($59,358.52).
Why do we do it?
There are many reasons. For one, it's a very practical
way and important way that you can - with 175,000 others - share God's love and
God's gifts.
How do I give?
Any donation to Canadian Memorial Church which you specify is
for the M&S will be sent to the National office of the United Church of
Canada (or if you specify a portion of
the donation). Your tax receipt will be for the combination of regular
church giving and the Mission and Service Fund.
Who can I contact?
Jean Moore
would be pleased to help.
