In From The Cold

In From The Cold is a Canadian Memorial outreach meal program that supports the many services First United Church provides to the residents of the Downtown Eastside.

We at Canadian Memorial, prepare a nutritious beef stew that a group of volunteers, friends and some residents from the downtown Eastside complete with potatoes, veggies and condiments. This dinner happens on the second Friday of every month.  It's a "dine out eastside" experience for many who call the street home.  Live music, laughter and stories punctuate an evening of friendship and fun.  Ice cream and chocolate cake are the finishing touches!

After clean up and closure we go away knowing we are blessed , that our time with those who come to eat is a gift and we look forward to the next time together.

Anita Kilberg co-ordinates this program. Contact Anita if you are interested in learning more about "In From The Cold"
