Stewardship at Canadian Memorial
|
![]() |
Stewardship is based on the belief that God is the Creator and all things belong to God. We are the trustees of God’s gifts, accountable to God and one another for their use. We give back to God a portion of our time, talent and money to sustain and grow our church and ensure that it thrives for the future. Gratitude is the motivating factor in the way we respond to God’s grace and use what has been entrusted to us.
How much should I give?
Generosity will mean different things to different people. Your gift may be a reflection of gratitude for the many blessings you enjoy in your life.
The truth is, you do not have an obligation to give—you have an opportunity to give.
Whether you call it a glad offering, a free-will offering, a heave offering, a love offering,
or by any other name, a tithe is, was, and forever more shall be,
intended as an offering of thanksgiving. –Paula Langguth Ryan

When we see money as something that flows through our lives and through the world, we realize that it doesn’t really belong to anyone; or we should say it belongs to everyone, and the opportunity we have is to allow this resource, just like water, to move through the world in a way that nurtures the most people, and the highest purpose. – Lynne Twist, Soul of Money |
