Prayers of the Community

May we put our hearts in our mouth honouring God,
not just with our lips but with our hearts, with our very lives.
It is with much gratitude and awe God, we sense
mystery, see the fertile planet, extravagant gifts of beauty, all for us to
embrace, mountain, sea, sky, flowers and trees. For your promise, God, that we
are accepted, move among us, stir us, surprise us with grace
and fresh possibilities.
Renew our vision of who you created us to be and
what you call us to do. Risk for justice, inclusion of the
rejected, insist there is enough bread and things of beauty, more than enough of riches and you, for all on earth to share and
live in peace.
God incline our hearts to support the Mission and
Service, as it aids in the search for peace and justice among the
needy world. In BC at 10 native churches, 38 rural, urban and
outreach congregations.
We pray for and are mindful of those in our church
and those know to each of us who are ill in mind, spirit or body;
those grieving for loved ones; those experiencing sobering losses or
puzzling trials.
Grant us wisdom and hope for the 38th General
Council of the United Church of Canada which meets in August.
May we who will not be present listen for its deliberations and
dreams. With anticipation and thanksgiving we look forward to
November, our 75th Anniversary. May your spirit direct us in
these celebrations.
Create in us clean hands and a pure
heart.
Now God accept these our prayers that we may
ascend to your
hills and stand in the holy place. Amen.
