Grant Watson - NOWBC

Bio
Grant has farmed organically in the Fraser Valley from 1995 to 2006. He served on the board of the BC Association of Regenerative Agriculture for 2 years. He has also been active in promoting permaculture through workshops, presentations to community groups and networking with other local enthusiasts. Grant currently operates an edible landscaping business and a organic buying club network, which connects local growers and processors with consumers.

Creating a Local Food System
- why its important to buy local organic food
- key elements and options in building a local food system
- who's doing what in the lower mainland

Format
I am intending to do it lecture style for about 40 min, followed by 20 min of discussion. I'm open to suggestions, bearing in mind that I have very little time to prepare a 'workshop'. If the intent is to initiate group action, another meeting could be arranged for those interested. (Of course, I have a solution all canned and ready to go. Its called Neighbours Organic Weekly Buying Clubs).
